The violent clashes in Myanmar’s West seems almost finished …. But there still to be continued.

The strife in Rakhine seems slowly alleviated. The different kind of rumour as terrorist attacking in Yangon Capital City of Myanmar was also faded as the city is still in peaceful condition. Although security are strengthened then before in regional capital Sittwe city, the place is already left with the ashes, smokes, and destructions, and the local people are left with dismay and misery. Businesses are hindered. The civic centres, monasteries, and some local houses are fully occupied with the displaced people of clash. In some camps, people are suffering diarrhoea.
An elderly woman collecting her belongings in her burnt house,Sittwe,Rakhine State.

The practical helps of UN and other NGOs are not yet come in. The aid from overseas citizen of Myanmar and other Rakhines are received via the domestic foundations, local relief groups and Rakhine Nationalities Development Party. The coverage of the relief efforts of the senior government officers by donating supplies were in the state-run media, but only God knows that aid were delivered to the places in need of these contributions.
The sectarian clash in the towns of Maungdaw and Butheethaung with large population of Bengalis flared after the rape and murder of Rakhine woman, followed by the death of 10 Myanmar Muslims. The sectarian strife led many untitled crimes of murders executed by the unknown criminals. The peaceful villages and areas were set ablaze. The Rakhines on the state border lived in the danger due to the besiege of Bengalis to the areas. The displaced people in the relief camps lost and also separated from their family.
No need for the further explanation that who is responsible for all these problems. The Bengalis who has gradually moved into Rakhine many decades ago are now over-population. The departures of many Rakhines to other cities in Myanmar and overseas left the Rakhine state weakened to bear the attack of Bengalis. And the lack of good border control and immigration guidelines, and also some unmoral government officers favoured the bribery helped the increase of the Bengalis population in Rakhine where they even start having a sense of territory belonging to Rakhine.
The false news of the genocides committed by military and local Rakhines Buddhists being called terrorists to the Bengalis are presented and broadcasted to the world by the foreign based media such as BBC, VIA, DVB, etc whereas the local Rakhines are already displaced and suffered the physical and mental health problems. What had done is that spreading the make believe news to the world which the act is the treason and treachery. Such is a completely disgrace and shame. Most of the stuff working in the Burmese service was the democracy activists and they fled to overseas as a result of the imprisonment of then-ruling governments or some with their own wills. They were/are Myanmar citizens and dissidents, and the majority are the Buddhists. And then, they were regarded as the overseas myanmar democracy activists. Their stations were also favored and relied, but not any more now after the Rakhine issue. They abused the trust and degraded the value People invested in them; as a result, people also become despised of them such as DVB and BBC reporters.

Rakhine strife put Myanmar citizens altogether and become united ever more than before, from the positive point. The people led by their own different perspectives to against their oppositions has come together as one and proceeded towards helping the victims of clash in Myanmar west. That would be seen as the benefit and another undeniable fact is that bringing up the question of what Myanmar muslims stand and their interrelationships with other Myanmar citizens.
This incident of sectarian violence brought up the intensive arguments between muslims and non-muslims in the social networking sites like facebook. The simple arguments were accumulated to the level of religious insults. The root of all problems would be the propaganda of the Rakhine woman raped and murdered. It resulted in the death of 10 muslims due to the racial sensitivity of Taungoke people having trapped in this propaganda. Their action, somehow assualted other rakhines. All these incidents would be the beginning of the blaze in Myanmar west. The initial incidents of rakhine woman and muslims deaths will be forgotten by times, but the muslims took it as the big blow and never be forgotten. They had the protest at Sule in the belief of being assaulted and lawless act of what had happened in Taungoke.
The incidents occurred in fast pace one after another and almost observed as prearranged. But, most Myanmar muslims also involved in supporting of Rohingyas via the strong arguments with other anti-rohingyas citizens, propanganda and outright lies of that Myanmar army and Rakhines are genociding Rohingyas. Most of the Myanmar muslims take sides with the Rohingyas and support them although some harmonize, and try to ease the tensions between the oppositions.
Rohingyas supporters muslims left the negative comments and titled the religion assault to the posts and articles about the anti-Bengalis and Bengali-muslims and asserted that they are being assaulted religiously. It put the non-muslims citizens in difficult situations which they become not being able to actively and freely against the Bengalis. It certainly provoke the communal tensions between muslims and non-muslims.
The Irrawaddy media made the accusation of internet users fueling the Rakhine clash that induced the negative views in the public toward their media. The domestic medias were united and active reporting the up-to-date news to the public. And the social networking on internet websites is also growing stronger.
The Rakhine clash caught the interests of public and also the world. It is also interconnected with the political and economic reforms rather than just the racial and religious issues. The natural resources of Rakhine has been availed and earned via the projects of Oil and Natural Gas explorations held in Rakhine offshore, but yet Rakhine people are not protected well by the government. The Rakhine Nationalites Development Party is active more than before and stands up for the Rakhine people. However, the feedback of their efforts also draws the conclusion of lacking empowerment in the country.

The clash seems almost ending. What this violent clash bear is that the thousands of displaced people, who can’t return to their homes, whose business were ruined, who were left as the penniless and poor and so on. The real question is how their lives are going to be built up and who is going to support them the adequate food and other supplies in the long term, and until when, how about for the students and parents, and how their lives are going to be effected, how to control the illegal immigration of Bengalis, how to prevent this sort of plight and unrest happening again in future, how to … … …

Daw Aung San Su Kyi 1,Pig 0

The London School of Economics or LSE is one of the best universities in the United Kingdom and perhaps in the world, John F. Kennedy went there for his graduate studies after his undergraduate degree in United States. It was a constituent college of University of London, now an autonomous university, one of the Russell Group Universities in UK. LSE was in the media hot waters for her association with the son of deceased Libyan leader colonel Gadhafi, Saiful Gadhafi. Under such circumstances, it is not very surprising that they are trying to leverage Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's historic visit by inviting her to their round table. It is a win-win proposal indeed so that Su can promote the accelerating reforms in Burma, she can dispel the miscommunications around us, she can promote the rule of law and order Burma is desperately needed. In other words, LSE needed Su and they wanted to be good hosts while she is there but we should recognize their good intentions. However, there is a cliché, all the road to hell is well paved with good wills.

What happened today was such an excellent example that fulfills that cliché. The good intention of LSE was spoiled by their 0 Pounds worth freebie guy with a title visiting fellow called Zarni. It is the same Maung Zarni who made a noise with his infamous on-line rant "Long Live [my] Rohingya [Bengali daddies]". To put it this way, he tried unsuccessfully to turn that round table into a debate or a duo of words. But it turned out the lady never get soiled by the pig. Who wants to wrestle with a pig as unfortunately the pig will be happy but you got soiled with mud.

To elaborate what happen in live video view whic people watch for Daw Suu in LSE where Maung Zarni is given a title of visiting fellow there. The visiting fellowship is just a ploy to get free media coverage for LSE. It is as usual, British seem to have mastered the martial art of Jujitsu, LSE does not have to pay a Pound for visiting fellow pay checks, but it was Prospect Myanmar(Burma) that paid his salary - which was funded by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's Nobel prize money, PB was paying his salaries till he got a job in the University of Brunei, which is in Brunei Darul Islam (means Brunei the house of Islam).

As a Myanmar , it is embarrassing to see his aggressive acts of trying to corner our leader into a tight corner. But perhaps he needs the money as the time he shouted LLR (Long Live Rohingya) co-incited with a time he moved to the new job to the university funded by the coreligionists of Bengalis. Myanmar have no ill issues with Brunei as it is ruled by a British educated handsome Sultan. But the problem is that to get and hold a job, is it necessary to promote the foreigner Bengalis invading into Myanmar who invented a word "Rohingya" to invent the race that never existed. Rohingya means the residents of Rakhine, Burmanised name of Arakan, the land they are trying to steal from Rakines, the land those Bengalis have been quietly infiltrating and now they are openly invading trying to turn the invasion into a race-religious conflict to get international attention. No sane Myanmar want ethno-religious riots to stall the reforms accelerating in Myanmar thanks to the democratization efforts of Suu and leading generals whose collective efforts should be dully recognized.

Therefore, while we can understand everyone has to make a living, Maung Zarni too has to make a living, being a Myanmar, we believe he should not put Daw Aung San Suu Kyi into a tight corner as she is a statesman but not a prime minister, president or portfolio holding official yet. Myanmar were wondering how low he would go, we were watching uncomfortably he was trying to hard to maneuver Daw Su with questions so that she will find hard to answer questions.

Finally, good for Myanmar and Burmese, it was him who was embarrassed, her grace, quiet confidence and well balanced answers backed with well informed knowledge won the day.

So we say "Lady 1, Pig 0" even when she was forced into the ring to wrestle with the hog, not a Myanmar with fine scholar caliber and intellect but just a media hungry thuggish man only how to charge as he was seen on LSE live.

Question about "R o h i n g y a ":

Question: What should it be with regarding with their citizenship? Are they or they are not?
DASSK: I do not know because when you talk about the rohingya, we are not quite sure who you are talking about. As I said there is a problem about who we are referring to. There is someone who say that those people who claim to be rohingya are not the ones who are actually native to Burma. But who are just come over recently from Bangladesh. But, on the other hand, Bangladesh says NO. They don’t want them as refugees. As they are not native to Bangladesh and they come over from Burma. So how do we sort this out? Without “RULE OF LAW”, without proper Immigration Processes, without proper policy, without appropriate implementation of the law. This is why I said the root of all this is “The RULE OF LAW” going back to many decades, not going back just to the crime that is just admitted a couple of months ago.

Changes to Myanmar’s Exchange Arrangements

The Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) will implement a managed floating exchange rate regime in Myanmar with effect from 1st April 2012. The external value of the national currency, the Myanmar kyat, will from now on be determined by supply and demand conditions in the exchange market.

In line with the new exchange rate regime, Reference Foreign Exchange Rate will be publicized daily by CBM. This arrangement is part of the reform program of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for modernizing the economy.

A key part of this program is to unify the various exchange rates and gradually eliminate restrictions on current international payment and transfers abroad. Replacing the official exchange rate, which has been pegged since 1977 at the level of 8.50847 kyats to SDR, with a market-determined exchange rate is the first step toward unifying the various exchange rates and also allow room for the CBM to influence the market exchange rate.

In all these areas, the CBM, domestic and international concerned agencies are working together to ensure that the changes are smooth. For FY 2012/13 Union Budget, provisions of Foreign Exchange Budget for Ministries and State Economic Enterprises have already been incorporated a budgetary exchange rate assumption in line with market exchange rate.

Unrest in Myanmar are Criminal in Nature

Won Thar Nu
Here is the translation of how the Russian press RG.RU has mentioned that the media from western countries published false information about the terrorist attacks of Rohingyas.
The conflict in the west in the state of Rakhine Buddhists are not yavlyaetsya confrontation with Muslims. There are no religious overtones. Such a misinterpretation of the events the international community imposed by Western media. In Rakhine clashes ordinary people of Myanmar illegal Bengali immigrants who have committed brutal murders of our citizens, "- a view voiced by ordinary citizens of Myanmar, which was able to talk correspondent" RG ". Independent experts also confirm that this is not about religious opposition as well as in Myanmar, there are Muslims from 4 to 8 percent of the population, and they quietly coexisted with the Buddhists.

Recall that in the past few days in Rakhine State, Myanmar in the west on the border with Bangladesh, clashes, which killed 30 people and wounded dozens, burned more than a thousand homes. The government was forced to declare a curfew and put in Rakhine State troops, which separated the warring parties. Clashes occurred between the indigenous population of the state - the citizens of Myanmar (Burma) - and the so-called "rohindzhya." The first mostly Buddhists, and Muslims second. It all started with the fact that the girl was killed by a group of Burmese "rohindzhya", and before that at her outrage. This provoked an outburst of indignation on the part of the indigenous population and responses: Burmese torn bus, which drove the alleged members of a crime. After that went to fighting between the Burmese and rohindzhya. The Western media have interpreted this as a conflict based on religion - between Buddhists and Muslims, with which "rohindzhya" are.

Correspondent "RG" was able to talk with some students from Myanmar, who presented a different version of events. "There is no tension in our country between Buddhists and Muslims do not exist. Events in Rakhine State are purely criminal in nature, workers carried out a series of monstrous murders ordinary Burmese and Buddhist monks", - emphasized the sides separately in a series of interviews. They also noted that the Western media deliberately portrayed everything as a religious conflict. "We have repeatedly appealed to the mainstream media of the West with the requirement to first understand the situation, and then give out the message and the interpretation of what happened, but we simply do not listen. It seems that it's easier to understand, or even deliberately trying to create a religious background," - said a student from Myanmar's Aung named.

Another student named Soest agree with him: "Burmese Buddhists, make up the vast majority of the population of Myanmar, are peace-loving people who are tolerant of all religions, including Muslims. But we are against gang murders committed against marginalized members of our so-called" rohindzhya "

From this point of view, agreed to a Russian expert, who for a long time, "lives in Myanmar. Asking not to be named, he said:" In the Myanmar, according to various estimates, from 4 to 8 percent of the population - Muslims. Myanmar Muslims - it is still Muslim Buddhist country. To pray and to worship no one bothers Muslims, and the number of mosques and prayer halls in Yangon is quite large. At the right time with the loudspeakers of mosques calling people to prayer - and that no one interferes. Myanmantsy like to show the area near the Sule Pagoda as a symbol of religious tolerance: across the street from one side of the pagoda - a mosque, and across the square - the Christian Church. "

Myanmatsy also disagree with the fact that "rohindzhya" feel oppressed people. "It is illegal Bengali immigrants who began to use soft indigenous population. They are not any specific people, especially the oppressed", - emphasized the sides.

Russian expert admitted that the situation in Rakhine State is a very complex, and themselves, "rohidzhya" extremely difficult group. "Among these people was a strong spread of this radical branch of Islam. Myanmar Muslims in general and Muslims" rohindzhya "are very different. Last greatly radicalized and started to behave very aggressively. And a significant role in this was played by two major external forces. First - international humanitarian organizations. second - radical Islam, "- said the expert. He stressed that even the Americans admit the possible existence of contacts between the radical groups "rohindzhya" in the face of Arakan (Arakan - Rakhine State historical name - approx. "RG") a national organization rohindzhya with armed Islamic extremists, with whom the government of Bangladesh started fighting after the bombings in 2005 year.

The expert also once again highlighted the fact that no religious background of the conflict there. "For a couple of days to the mercy of the Burmese bus" rohindzhya "several" rohindzhya "grabbed the girl-rakhaynku (indigenous Rakhine State, the Buddhists - the explanation of" RG "), abused and killed over it. What then could be a religious component is that the mob rakhayntsev rushed to the bus, where the traveling "rohindzhya" allegedly involved in the murder of a defenseless girl? What does the religious affiliation of those and others involved as well underlined the largest news agencies in the messages? "

He also categorically denied some reports that the army was introduced in Rakhine State was "cleaned" rohindzhya "." This is absolutely not true. The army itself is at risk, and contrary pulls of their own from the Burmese "rohindzhya." Many of my friends are indignant Burmese such protection by the army. She said: "Why do they defend scum, We have long since dealt with them, but we do not want us to shoot our own brothers and soldiers!"

The expert also admitted that had a popular Western media have lost their positions. "In the past military government had to convince people that the Western media lied, now, even in liberal newspapers placed the calls for a boycott of some of the most well-known publications and radio stations of the West and accusations of lying and uncleanliness. In fact, these days a number of Western agencies that give voice to this "religious factor" of the conflict, lost in all of Myanmar, "- said the source.

Biggest Vein of Gold in the World? (In Myanmar)

Biggest Vein of Gold in the World?

A rich vein of gold.
The biggest gold vein in the world has been discovered in Myanmar(Burma). The gigantic gold vein is mainly located in the Mae-wai region of Karen State but it reaches Toungoo area in the Pegu District through the Kyaik-htee-yoe region in the Mon State. About ten miles wide at some places and almost 120 miles long?

Above was the gist of what U Soe Thein, a retired Geology Professor from the century-old Yangon University and the Managing Director of Myanmar Adventure Metal International Mining Ltd based at Pegu in Burma, proudly said of the mineral discovery of his lifetime. The vein doesn’t stop at Myanmar as it continues under the sea and resurfaces at Indonesia.

According to Soe Thein it took NASA’s LANDSAT-7 satellite at six orbital locations to photo-survey the whole Myanmar’s part of the massive vein. The conservatively estimated concentration of pure gold is 20 grams per a ton of rock ore.

Mae-wai in the Karen State is the most concentrated part of the gold vein but the location is in the remote jungles of Karen State virtually controlled  by the armed-insurgents from the KNU and the KNU’s licensed miners have been extracting tons of gold from the area last few years. High grade gold presently being extracted in large quantities from Shwe Kyin gold mines are part of that vein.

Maybe the Canadian goldmining conglomerate Ivanhoe will come back to resume their pilot gold mine at Modi-Taung Mount at 150 km southeast of Mandalay in Central Myanmar. In December 2001 Ivanhoe’s geologists discovered 3,475 Grams/Ton very-high-grade gold at the Block-10 of Modi-Taung Project.

Ivanhoe was forced to abandon the project in 2007 as the relentless pressure from pro-democracy groups like Canadian Friends of Myanmar finally became unbearable. It basically sold all its assets and projects to Norinco a Chinese weapon manufacturing firm.

Ivanhoe's Modi_taung workers (and one depressed Myanmar Elephant).
Maybe Ivanhoe is already back in Myanmar now because of all the favourable political situations. We just do not know yet!

(This latest Myanmar Mining update was from AFP March 15.)

The Philippines’ largest gold miner said Wednesday it is keen to invest in Myanmar as the former military-ruled state makes tentative political reforms and tries to lure investors with tax breaks.

Philex Mining Corp. has sent representatives to Myanmar in recent weeks to look at opportunities and assess the investment climate, company senior vice-president Michael Toledo told AFP.

“Myanmar  is opening up and a lot of businesses are really looking at that country. We do not want to be left behind,” he said.

He said Philex was eyeing metallic minerals and even natural gas in Myanmar, but did not disclose which local companies they were dealing with.

“We are looking at the regulatory framework, the political landscape, how business is run there, who are the people to talk to. This is the regular due diligence that companies do,” Toledo said.

The company, which posted a record net income of 5.8 billion pesos ($US136 million) in 2011, is also eyeing investments in gold and copper in Indonesia, Toledo said.

He stressed the talks were exploratory and that no commitments had been made.
